@vv3541 do you know what a tarriff is. Study economic 101. Importers pay the tarriff. An importer can be from any country. Supply and demand determine price. Let's use avacados as example. Mexico avacados bought directly cost .39 per unit. Add imposed tarriff. Now the importer has a choice. He can continue to buy the Mexico avacado or find another seller who will sell cheaper. Example... California! Buy USA

@DMo that's one perspective if you believe in keyesian economics. However in a monetary economics, a tarriff is government revenue. People find substitutes all the time. It's all about supply and demand. Importer will have options to pay or find another exporter or find equivalent product within. If not, then another importer steps in. It's called competition. Mexico has a 600 billion dollar trade surplus with US. It's time to cut the cord.

@bestman29307 nah ..they have a choice. To sell or not sell. The importers always find another importer. South America! California! Look at it like weather. A storm takes out a farmer orchard. What happens? Prices go up in short term but in long term the buyer always finds another seller. Sometimes he finds a better deal
