@celestialnubian I don't think you understand economics. .jobs are based on companies who supply goods and services. If they don't make money, they start to lay off. People also save their money and invest in those companies so they can get a return when they cash(sell) out. Money is used to pay bills. The dow is a collection of companies. The dow is how economist among other variables figure out just how to invest. Private companies depend on banks. The banks are public. If you see the dow going down like it did today, that's not good for you or those who invested in those companies. All lose. Inflation is rising prices. This means your expenses will cost you more while your pay remains the same or you lose job completely! Do you understand? If not, you don't work or aren't an American citizen..

@celestialnubian earnings change per quarter. That's why when a company comes out with their report, the stock fluctuates. Other variables fluctuate a stock too. Gas prices example. .this market decline is intentionally. Biden policy is at the root. I highly suggest you take an economic course and a finance course. Bye.
