This was thrilling to watch and you captured the journey well. Now my biggest problem is the whining nature of Kenyans, we are too cynical of everything. Yes, governments are seldom liked anywhere in the world even when they do great things for their populations. The SGR was constructed in a record 3-4 years, from Mombasa to Nairobi, a distance of 500km. It was to replace the snail pace train otherwise called the Lunatic express that was just an eyesore and a drainer for the exchequer. The SGR was constructed to haul containers and transport people quickly obviously to leverage on efficiencies, economy etc. Much is talked of the cost of SGR but mostly it is just politics. Everything has a price but I choose to look at the bigger picture. SGR is a wise investment and it will pay for itself in the long run since it is a long term project.

You couldn't just get her name right....it was Jedy but you settled for Jelly. Love your videos and daredevil attitude. You give it raw, unfiltered as it should be. Good stuff!

There are plenty of vlogs on those places you have mentioned. What are you doing on a vlog showcasing Africa?

Β @kandandaΒ No one said government is in the business of making money but when it comes to provision of public goods and services only the government has the capacity to provide them in large scale for the people. The investment needed for such infrastructure is so expensive that if private players were to engage in it, then you will pay an arm and a leg for those goods and services since they have to recoup their money and markup. That's why the world over critical services and goods (public utilities) meant for public use are provided by the government, inefficiencies notwithstanding.

Good points.

Well said Faith. People say the dumbest things and reinforce stereotypes. And these are Kenyans nonetheless.

That was really torture, I felt your frustration πππ. The easier way is not to engage and just ignore. He would have given up in no time.

You didn't do your homework before going to Rwanda. It is a police state with intelligence cops and sentries all over the city keeping guard. Yes, it is very clean, very organized but it just feels souless. The lady captured it well, a lot of unemployment and much is sweeped under the carpet. I've been there, so I know it.

Copy that. Many share your sentiments. Welcome.

Kampala CBD has got to do better though. Makes me appreciate Nairobi so much. I see why Nairobi is far ahead of other East African cities.
