Yes but that Germany was dictatorship regime similar to today Russia. Today Germany is a democratic country defending from dictatorship regime.

@zacthegamer6145 there is the same distance from NATO countries to Russia as there is from Russia to NATO countries. The distance is zero so they are mutually at their doorsteps. You should stop behaving like Russia owns ex-Soviet countries. Those countries are free to choose their own destiny and Russia has no right to invade them.

@khdmhd2947 Hitler was Austrian and Austrians are not Germans. They are even not Germanic. Austrians are Celts and Slavs and Hitler had far more Slav than Germanic genes.

@odessa5631 Napoleon and Hitler didn't have support of Russian opposition. NATO would have huge support of Russian opposition that is hardly waiting to get rid of tyrant Putin. Americans captured Baghdad the city of 8 million in just 6 days because most people living in Baghdad wanted to get rid of Saddam Hussein.

@khdmhd2947 Hitler thought that he was a German and Germans also thought that he is one of them. Many Germans still think that Austrians are Germans. DNA analysis showed that Austrians are not Germanic people that they are far more Celtic and Slavic than Germanic. This is why Hitler looks more like Czech Slav than Germanic man. Hitler was not German by genes for sure.

@khdmhd2947 yes. Actually Hitler wasn't such an extreme nationalist that he is portrayed. Hitler was a bandit who became a socialist dictator. He was as bad as Stalin. He truly believed in socialism and he started typical socialist reforms including nationalization of large corporations. Nationalization was a bit undercover because he wanted to show to the western world that his socialism is not so radical toward capitalists as it was communism. He postponed the full nationalization for the time after the WW2.

@monikaengelsfeld686 why Austrians speak German? Good question. The answer is: so they have one language that unifies them as a nation. So they are not like Swiss people that speak 4 languages. The previous languages of people living in the territory of modern Austria were Latin language in the west and Slavic languages in the east. By Slavic I mean Czech and Slovak in north east and Slovenian in south east of modern Austria. Austrians took neighboring German language because it was a neutral language. Germans helped a bit by sending German speaking people to Austria but their Germanic genes are now a small minority among Austrians. DNA showed that Austrians have more than 20% celtic genes and 19% slavic genes and only about 10% germanic genes. Similar thing happened in Hungary where dominant genes are Slavic yet they speak Hungarian language that left only about half percent of N genes. DNA showed the truth about the origin of nations despite language that they use.

@khdmhd2947 I think it is hard to find books about this. Some exist but they are rare. Vast majority of books are misleading into thinking that Hitler was a German nationalist monster and they are downplaying his role as a socialist leader. The best way to come closer to the truth is to study facts from history. The fact is that Hitler was a national socialist and in his speeches are full of radical socialist ideas . The fact is that he was very similar in leadership style to international socialist-communist dictators. The fact is that nazi Germany and communist Soviet Union formed agreement to divide Poland. The fact is that both nazis and communists were called comrades and they mistreated religious people. The fact is that there are so many similarities between nazi Germany and communist Soviet Union. The fact is that history was written by winners and it is quite different from what really happened... Look at as many facts as you can find and think about them - try to logically connect them and you will come closer to the truth than any indoctrinated historian whose job is to push the agenda of his country.

@khdmhd2947 I must tell you that I used to live in Vienna - Austria so this is why I was interested in Austrians. Who they are and who was their the most notorious person - Hitler. Smart Austrians told me that they are not Germans and not even Germanic people so I studied more about them. Beside I can tell you that some of my ancestors were Germans the same Germans that brought German language into Austria and Slovenia. I inherited maybe 5 to 10% of genes from them.

@nateghast6456 go to Austria and ask them about Germans. You will see how wrong are you about Austrians. I lived there in Vienna and spoke with many Austrians. They are not Germans and they have quite different culture than Germans and even language is very different since they speak Austrian Bavarian that is very hard to understand for those that can speak mainstream German. I understand Germans with my basic German knowledge much easier than Austrians despite I lived there for some time.
