It is interesting that when we think of our parents, grandparents, grand-grand parents we think that they had stricter childhood than their children. The reality is quite different and it also depends on where and in what time people lived. I think parents were very strict to children after they experienced hard times during WW1 and WW2 and it is quite possible that parents were less strict to their children before the WW1 despite they had simpler lives. Currently children are very spoiled and so many disrespect their parents and it is quite possible that this trend will reverse in the future so future children will have stricter upbringing and will respect parents more.
