Speaking from the UK We see no reason to do this and we certainly can't afford to do it ! This is a security and safety issue. It is a disgrace and disrespectful to American interests.

@jtre5387 I understood that the Chagos islanders didn't want this ? Obviously misinformed then. But why pay to give it back and what about security for the Americans base. What would America say if we asked them to also pay as it's their base there ?
