  8. I still use Firefox because out of all the browsers available Firefox has the best user experience. I think that if you care so much about privacy you should stay of the internet and all those You Tube video's that say they will dump Firefox are using You Tube a Google product which is notorious for it's data collection and such. Why do they use You Tube, because it has the most viewers.

  12. On MX Linux Xfce for a year now and it just works. But all the Linux distro's I used sometimes out of nowhere a total freeze. Nothing works anymore, only a hard reset. This never happened on Windows. What could it be? Kernel maybe?

  14. Kubuntu (I'm on 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.5) is great. Easy to install and use, quick and very stable. Lots of customization options yes, but I don't care about that. I didn't customize much. Been using it for more than a month now and no problems at all. Looks great with Fluent dark theme and Papirus icons.

  16. uBlock origin for ad blocking is the better option. Default Debian Xfce is just ugly. But themed with Arc dark and Papirus dark icons and the bottom panel removed and the top panel dragged to the bottom, beautiful IMO. Wow Peppermint 8 my very first ever Linux distro still going strong. Mark Greaves really was a genius😉

  19. I like Pop because of Dash to panel extension, but if they go with their own base instead of Ubuntu and own DE, I think Gnome extensions you can't use them anymore?

  24. Lots of flavors yes, but all you need is Kubuntu🤗 I don't like the Ubuntu fonts. Always Liberation Sans size 11 for me. Upgraded yesterday. Done in about 10 minutes and it's running as smooth as 22.10. No more Peppermint in the benchmarks DJ?

  29. They should indeed think enough is enough this hursts our reputation, but like you said the competition from AMD is forcing them to produce newer and faster CPU's I think. But in the end I think those security woes will hurt them even more. I have absolutely no knowledge about this stuff BTW.

  30. When you use the Snap version of Firefox in Ubuntu 22.04 you can't (currently) install Gnome extensions from the Gnome extension website. Solved by installing the Firefox tar. And again Peppermint on top in most of the tests shown at the end of the look around.

  35. Htop and Neofetch are already installed. Instead of Htop TOP usualy works. On the Respin since it came out. Quick and stable and very quick install. 5 minutes and it was installed. Happy new year!

  55. I did the bmark test. Canvas score - Test 1: 296 - Test 2: 599 WebGL score - Test 1: 372 - Test 2: 338Total score: 1605. With Firefox 79 beta 7. Same test with Chromium: Canvas score - Test 1: 121 - Test 2: 178 WebGL score - Test 1: 167 - Test 2: 235 Total score: 701

  57. On 21.04 currently, but disabled the Cosmic extensions because of glitches and artefacts when clicking on show applications, date and time were gone of the panel of Dash to panel. Strange thing though when I disabled Cosmic extensions the glitching I had when dragging a window to make it bigger or smaller when I used 20.04 and 20.10 are gone now on 21.04. Very weird. Or maybe they fixed that with 21.04 release.

  67. How much did your Pop OS score? I've seen you use Lynis before and as far as I can remember none of almost none ever scored 70 or more. So can one say none or almost none Linux OS is secure? Can you run Lynis on Windows and what did it score?

  71. Mint Cinnamon is nice except for the icon theme, but this is easily changed. I like Cinnamon and the new upgrader. Very easy to use, but I'm still happy with Debian 11 Xfce.

  80. Very interesting, but is it advisible to use it as a main OS for daily use? On Pop I can use flatpak of Firefox and Thunderbird. Thunderbird I can set as default, but Firefox I can not. Why I don't know.

  86. I've been using MX for a couple of months now and it's indeed very quick, easy and very quick installation and very stable. The latest hottest thing is Arch based CachyOS. Maybe you can take a look at it too DJ? If Linux Mint doesn't like snaps why not drop Ubuntu based and only focus on the Debian based?🤔
