And for the vast majority for religious reasons.  No, it is not murder, as it's an unborn FETUS, not able to survive outside the mothers body....not an unborn child. Likewise, the fetus doesn't start to become sentient until around the 6 month period. So not a baby before that point!   You need better arguments than appeals to emotion.

  7. soloyo735 I grew up in a religious household and it caused me a lot of problems, but I fought back.... and eventually gained the love and respect of the people I care about. As for your examples, well that is an argument about euthanasia, which many people are for but I have no opinion on as yet. The fact remains the fetus is not a fully developed human, unlike your examples. Nobody is advocating to kill new-born babies, so your last point is irrelevant. Nevertheless new born babies can live outside the womb, unlike foetuses.

Same goes with comparisons between a 5 week fetus and a nine month one.....one has a functional brain, the other doesn’t. Why are you ignoring these facts? As for your links, well I was shocked when the first one said abortion in Canada is legal at any stage in a woman’s pregnancy. Until I delved deeper and found out it’s only legal up to 24 weeks....After that it can only be performed for serious medical reasons, such as if the foetus would not be viable outside the woman’s body. Why did you not mention this critical piece of information, Robert? Of course I fully support their reasons for allowing late term abortions, any compassionate human being would; such decisions are never taken lightly....which makes your ‘no different than removing a tooth’ remark just crass and untrue. Your second link is unworthy of consideration, being emotive garbage from something called the CHRISTIAN Broadcasting Network: I specifically asked you to provide UNBIASED links, Robert, very devious of you! Speaking of the Christian god, it seems to me he is totally on board with abortion....you know, what with him being the biggest practitioner in history....
