Robert Kiers It's strange how the only 'argument' pro-lifers have is an appeal to emotion. And for the vast majority for religious reasons. No, it is not murder, as it's an unborn FETUS, not able to survive outside the mothers body....not an unborn child. Likewise, the fetus doesn't start to become sentient until around the 6 month period. So not a baby before that point! You need better arguments than appeals to emotion.

Robert Kiers No need to find it strange, Bob.....fetus is the correct term in this instance, mothers say it's a baby simply because they are emotionally attached; did you REALLY think that 'argument' was valid??? As for your examples, well that is an argument about euthanasia, which many people are for but I have no opinion on as yet. The fact remains the fetus is not a fully developed human, unlike your examples. Nobody is advocating to kill new-born babies, so your last point is irrelevant. Nevertheless new born babies can live outside the womb, unlike foetuses.

Robert Kiers As I suspect you well know, Robert, a one day old baby is in no way comparable to a, say, 16 week fetus......you are being facetious to say the least. Same goes with comparisons between a 5 week fetus and a nine month one.....one has a functional brain, the other doesn’t. Why are you ignoring these facts? As for your links, well I was shocked when the first one said abortion in Canada is legal at any stage in a woman’s pregnancy. Until I delved deeper and found out it’s only legal up to 24 weeks....After that it can only be performed for serious medical reasons, such as if the foetus would not be viable outside the woman’s body. Why did you not mention this critical piece of information, Robert? Of course I fully support their reasons for allowing late term abortions, any compassionate human being would; such decisions are never taken lightly....which makes your ‘no different than removing a tooth’ remark just crass and untrue. Your second link is unworthy of consideration, being emotive garbage from something called the CHRISTIAN Broadcasting Network: I specifically asked you to provide UNBIASED links, Robert, very devious of you! Speaking of the Christian god, it seems to me he is totally on board with abortion....you know, what with him being the biggest practitioner in history....

Robert Kiers What you don't understand is 'I don't think there is much difference' just doesn't cut it for you, Robert....the REAL experts DO think there is a great difference, and of course that is what matters. It's not according to me, not being an expert on this subject (just as you, it seems) it's according to medical professionals. Now, who should I believe....people with no religious axe to grind, the great majority of whom are caring and knowledgeable people, or you religious extremists? Hmm, tough one.....

Robert Kiers And of course the same goes for late stage abortions; if the professionals say there is a need for such a procedure to protect the health of the mother, who am I to object? You have in no way proved your claim that they are taking the wrong decision. Your last sentence says it all....you are prejudiced in this matter because you believe your god is against abortion. And yet nowhere in the bible does he/she indicate it is wrong to do so.....strange that! Wouldn't you think (if he/she actually existed) that he/she would make his stance on such an important subject perfectly clear? Of course he/she would!

Robert Kiers Your last post is simply an appeal to emotion, and really should be beneath you.....but for some strange reason isn't! Being from the UK I have no insight into the laws of these cities and countries where you claim a fetus/baby can be killed 3 days before birth and find it hard to believe unless there is some compelling reason. Can you please supply an unbiased link to support your assertion that this is happening in these areas, and is considered to be no different than 'removing a tooth'? Many thanks.

And yes, your god commands us not to murder ( even though he is, according to your book of mythology, the biggest mass-murderer in history!), which is OF COURSE a good thing.....but I asked you specifically where he/she forbids abortion?!!
