Same with you yanks: you're not speaking 'American English', you're speaking ENGLISH, albeit with an American accent! I love visiting the US (although no way would I want to live there) and know Americans to be among the friendliest people on the planet. But I've also encountered a group who tarnish the name of your country: they are loud, brash, arrogant (with no personal reason to be), and generally obnoxious. These are the kind who take personal credit not just for America's past achievements, but also for many that weren't American! Ring any bells?
