When Internet is slow like 3G-4G, most APPs use less data like browsers and YouTube, they automatically choose lower resolution , thus your data plan goes a long way. But Since 5G is faster , you use up your data faster , ending up paying more for data . You need to topup for additional data or you have to choose a more expensive data subscrIption . Everyone I know here in China turns off the 5G node , and opt to use 4G by default instead.
