  1. Australian plugs, lol, are upside down Both 2 and 3 prongs, but the top 2 are on angles. Switches usually sit to the outside of the plug - less likely to switch the wrong appliance on - but usually can't fit two bulky plugs next to each other. Some switches have red painted or even lit indicators to see if they are in the on position and some have a light for telling that the point is working ? Some have test buttons on them. All are now required to be safe switches? Can see many advantages to the UK ones. Also UK switched operate in the opposite direction to the Australian ones. Down = on and Up = off
