  1. So the Mazda is actually in partnership with the Isuzu. Was a derivative of the previous Ranger - Pacific tie up between Mazda and Ford. Since 1980 in Australia - hence our small car and medium cars were co developed Mazda's, to go FWD . Finished connection to the UK's escort and cortina. We went Mazda 323 and 626 Known as Laser and Telstar. UK went fwd escort and sierra. This continued till the focus and Mondeo. Other models as well Previous Ford rangers were rebadged mazdas, also known as Ford Couriers The current ranger turned the tables, and Mazda wasn't happy. They looked ugly So they left Ford to go with the Isuzu. Ironically, Holden's Ute was a badged version of the Isuzu - the Colorado. There was a HSV version We also had a 4wd called the jackaroo - which was an Isuzu. This is separate to the Holden Commodore car based iconic Ute - like your Chevvy Camino etc

  3. Yes, your correct - would conflict with F series trucks, and you also have a thing called the Maverick - which we don't get - and I don't know where, size wise, it fits in - but would be too much competition to each other.

  5. The Renault, could also be based on the Nissan - if you look closely at the cabin window lines and rear light clusters ? Even though Mitsubishi is partnered with Renault. Renault has a majority of shares in Nissan ? Bailed them out in the '90s. Contentious issue in Japan Hilarious story on Carlos Gohn, the head of Renault Nissan, and being jailed in Japan and his escape in a music container to his native Lebanon where there is no extradition treaty with Japan. When he got there, he went to his home, that is owned by Nissan - LOL 😅

You probably do have Isuzu's there, but as you showed in one of your videos, when driving in your outback, and showing the Xmas lights in the snow, you drove into a car lot ?, and pointed out a GM Colorado Ute, which looked like our Holden Colorado Ute - so think it is rebadged GM has/had connections with Isuzu, Suzuki, Subaru, Toyota, Daewoo, Holden, Opel, Vauxhall and SAAB. To have a range of cars, most Holden's were badge engineered, with the above. Some made here.

The Ford Ranger is developed entirely in Australia by Ford's Advanced Engineering Team - they were given the brief from US HQ and because of Ford Australia's previous ability to produce excellent locally made and designed cars and Territory with little money. The cars are put together in Thailand. The VW Amarok has ll next to it, to signify it's the second generation, just going on sale here in Australia - co developed with Ford Australia - optional 3.0 litre twin turbo diesel V6 in both and Ford's/GM 10 speed auto We also have the wagon version, albeit more car like, called the Everest - to take on the Toyota Landcruiser Prado. The Everest has just won Wheels car magazine Car of the Year - a world wide respected award, particular in the UK, that has grueling criteria and won't be awarded if the years cars, aren't up to scratch.

  12. The Mercedes Benz Ute, only lasted a very short time here - no longer here. It's actually based on the Nissan Ute - we call the Navara - not matter what Mercedes wants to say. Mercedes is not an ethical company, but better than the Audi VW group. Mercedes still owes the Australian tax payer, millions of dollars for COVID-19 payments it never needed, whilst still making profits.

  13. We do currently get the big GM and RAM through dealers, though they are converted here, to right hand drive. There has been much talk about the big Toyota's ( Tacoma etc ), and F150 and even the big Nissan. But I'll believe it, when I see it. Possibly getting your GMC Tahoe and others with the Corvette and Silverado - through GMSV - General Motors special Vehicles. Chrysler now gone from Australia, because of not wanting to make right hand drive versions of the 300c. Only last Chrysler car sold here - so no more hot hemi V8 patrol cars. Just Jeep now and RAM. Dodge gone as well - if dodge, not ram - ahhhhh, so confusing lol 😂
