You may want to react to The Royal Flying Doctor Service - and how it lands on the Nullabor Highway, across the bottom of Australia. Sections are widened, with markings and lights, and the planes can land on the road, when it has been cleared and take off again. A bit like the Swedish Air Force being able to land their fighter jets on their highways.

Norway and it's oil - irony - being the first and most electric car country in the world. With enough international pressure, drilling and exploration in the Great Australian Bight, by the Norwegian Governments main oil company, was thwarted.

It's okay - but our cyclones or tropical cyclones are what they call Hurricanes in the US - which they recently had one in Florida. In Japan they are called Typhoons. These develop over water. Tornadoes or twisters, are completely different and form over land generally. We do get them. Usually faster and smaller than a cyclone and short lived. 😊

Yeah - if " CANADA " !, has had temperatures that even Australia doesn't get ( or no recording stations where it may ? ), this year and last - goodness knows what we are in for - as we have a semi heatwave warning for this weekend and further in, for the east coast - high for early spring. El Nino declared or soon will be. After years of La Nina, and massive bushfires before that, the amount of " fuel ", or undergrowth to burn is huge. Getting dry already. Have had strong gales. Well above average temps predicted by B.O.M. for basically the whole nation. Lots of urgent fire reduction burns occuring at the moment, particularly around Sydney - area below and above covered in smoke haze. Unsettling. 🥴

Lol - Asia has the Yeti and Abominable Snow Man, the US - Big Foot and Canada - Sasquatch. And ..... Australia has the Yowie. Aboriginal culture talks about them and has several names for them. There is a museum, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland on them, that has been on Getaway. Young Australian senator witness one with a church camp near newcastle when he was young as a group. Anthropologist spotted one in hinterland as well. Many sightings. No actual hard evidence - but too much occurance to ALL be a hoax. People say they exhibit similar traits to Bigfoot with tree knocking and rock throwing. Thermal heat image of two by a youtube dedicated channel. Evidence of bush manipulation etc. Just curious. Really interesting.

We currently have a bush fire emergency in the NT. Near Tennant Creek. 10,000 square kms. Emergency alerts at the bottom of screen on our National tv broadcaster ABC News - in yellow.

The SS version at the time from the factory, came in some very lary colours - orange and purple with awesome thick stripes and blackouts and nice wheel covers - alloy ?? 4.2 or 5.0 litre Aussie V8s. They even had a camping option, where a tent came out from the hatch when open, so you could sleep in it.

Tornadoes, appear to be more visible now, in recent years. Bathurst, Armidale, Dubbo, Brisbane, Perth, Kurnell in Sydney. There is a great video on youtube of two young tradies - hilarious - filming from their ute, a large twister as it comes straight at them, near Rutherglen in North East Victoria about 2012. Living nearby, with x3 touching down in that area on the same day - i took a day trip to Yarrawonga to see the aftermath, as i have never seen one before. ( we get many coastal waterspouts ). Our giant Murray River Red Gums, were sheared off, half way up their trunks, on either side of the road. Caravan Park at back of lake, flattened. The lake no longer had visual of its water, just covered in debris and logs/branches. Ammunition factory at Mulwala, so serious. Lake had to be emptied, to clear. Main recreational water sports lake on the Murray River. Albury - Wodonga has had two " microbursts " that left a narrow band of destruction through the towns. When one reached Lake Hume, it became a water spout, visible and crossed the lake to the other side and damaged some new houses being built. Two young guys on the western shore, among some gum Forrest and pines, had trees falling all around them, but weren't hurt. If you pay subscribe you can see articles in The Border Mail. With Antarctica supplying Australia's snow and tropical heat from the North, its a wonder that we don't have the same or similar system to you guys ?
