Australian army use to have a fleet of Land Rover Countys 110 - / Defenders, but has since switched to the G wagons - for better electronics. We also have unimogs. Most Range Rovers and G Wagons will be in affluent suburbs. Basically the outback is the domain of Toyota and Ford Rangers / Everest. Land Rover is the company, with Range Rover a part of it. Very capable and luxurious and car like - but i dont know what the long term reliability and costs are ?
