They realize it, but it's hard to walk away from that campaign money AND it is hard to walk back all of the rhetoric they have been spouting for decades about the sacredness of the 2nd amendment (as if the guns they can buy will somehow be effective against the full power of America's war machine in time of their "revolution") Basically as I see it, they've painted themselves into a corner. The end of this version of Republican politics may soon be at hand ... maybe they will let their moderates back into leadership roles once they start losing bigly.

  14. Ummm, no. The Supreme Court was only upholding the 2nd Amendment as the Supreme Court is currently filled. Amending the 2nd Amendment can happen and probably will happen with the right judges. This explains why it was so important for Republicans to block nearly all of Obama's judges he wanted and why they are so willing to ram through any of Trumps. They are packing the courts, to get the same effect you would if you have bought and paid for refs in a sporting event.

  22. It's actually quite pathetic when a teenager who witnessed some of the worst carnage imaginable, in a place that should have been regarded by both herself and her peers as a haven. That such a soul could speak with such power, eloquence, and truth; and then be attacked on a youtube comment thread as being a "libtard" or "gender confused" or various other such tripe as is presented below. Good lord this kid and so many of her fellow class and school mates were VICTIMIZED by a gun toting mass murderer who clearly delighted in his warped and twisted points of view. And some of you have the utter audacity to attack her or anyone else who dares question the place of guns in our society and access to them? I'd say shame on you, but most if any of you likely do not harbor the mental capacity to feel shame.
