  2. Villain. Sometimes your beliefs are dead wrong, no matter how hard you hold them. A "profile in courage" would have been her seeing the error of her ways and then supporting the will of the voters who put her in office not to mention her colleagues who have explained to her time and time again why she is wrong here.

I think that many of these lobbying firms (and think tanks) for former politicians are just a nice way to say, "Politicians' wealthy donors have provided them with an exit strategy after they don't get re-elected or retire ... as long as they do their bidding." Basically a golden parachute plus program/back-end bribe payout.
