Exactly, they aren't really getting it yet. This will happen again in their Party, and they will be "shocked" again as if it is happening for the very first time.

@joethompson3859 Yep, but they want to believe the "big lie" they tell themselves, so there will be no real change in the Republican Party after Trump is gone. This happened before when Michael Steele was in charge of the GOP, they developed a strategy to get more minorities and women voters but they were afraid it would cost them their base. So they fired Steele, trashed his plan, and doubled down on getting more of their base out to vote instead. I expect more of the same ... "rinse and repeat"

Why is no one talking about how all of these federal agencies that could have sent armed help didn't, even tho we all know they were watching it unfold in real time on TV just like we also were?

Smerconish is the kind of Republican who would have been pleased with everything Trump has done if he would have acted more like Pence in front of the cameras and on Twitter. I await the next "shock" by Republicans when all of this happens again in their Party.

@NicoleM2108 Exactly, imagine what 4 more years of Trump would have spawned and how many of his goons would have showed up in DC to demand Congress change the rules so Trump could "legally" get a 3rd and 4th and 5th term.

Facts, this is really being overshadowed at the moment because of Trump, but yes ... the Right wing media machine has been poisoning the minds of the Right for a generation or so, and they have wrapped themselves in Xtian ideologies to make it more palatable to another set of easily led/manipulable people.

@lloydmckay3241 Yes, I know, but would you have waited for authorization from the White House if you had the ability to send in troops or FBI or any of the other departments who have the ability to send help knowing what was happening right down the street? All the heads of these departments need to be thoroughly investigated because this is starting to feel like there may be something bigger going on than simple incompetence.
