  2. The media is scared of the public backlash Trump and others will generate if they didn't follow the narrative to some degree. They can pick at the edges, but they can't directly attack the problem. Trump assassinates an Iranian general while he was in Iraq, and the news is already parroting the talking points as the good little propagandists they are. Trump is waging the dog here, he's making it easier for people to turn away from any info that could come out soon concerning the validity of his impeachment and possible removal from office. I can hear it now, "How can you impeach/remove him during a time of war?" "How can you not support him during a time of war, aren't you patriotic, aren't you American?" Trump is going to win if we don't break free of this propaganda and have the courage to choose a candidate who will speak truth to the powerful for the weak.
