  3. +Pilfer Bean You might be onto something about the environmental abuses and toxic wastelands. There may be a correlation with that and the level of intelligence dropping in this country. The US (and the world I'd bet) is peppered with large communities where old water pipes could be leeching lead (not to mention other things) into the drinking water, sure they are at levels that pass the EPA standards, but maybe those standards aren't really safe for everyone. Just like we know people who have smoked cigars/cigarettes and never gotten cancer, or people who can drink large amounts of alcohol or do drugs without an ill effects mentally or physically. The same could be said of toxins and other environmental abuses, we may not really know the safe levels for any of this stuff we surround ourselves with or breath in and ingest. How else do we explain what we are seeing happening to the Republican Party?
