  1. dickheadbummer, best to forget how Boeing and McDonnel Douglass both admitted they were lucky that they got all the information from Britain which saved them from the same problem and how the 707 had a bad aerodynamic fault that Boeing tried to blame on pilot error had a bad aerodynamic fault which killed many more than the Comet. Best to forget that Boeing made stuoid mistakes on the 737 Max that killed plenty of people before it was grounded and Boeing have never properly fixed the problem

  5. dickheadbummer. Jealousy is a bad thing, why did Kurt Tank try to copy the Mosquito? Britain had enough aluminium to make over 20,000 Spitfires and so many other fine aircraft. DH were pioneers and they were more than capable of making excellent commercial aircraft including the Dove and Heron.

  9. dickheadbummer, So you admit the Meteor and Canberra were good designs. Ever heard of the Comet 4? the Comet 1 was the first commercial jet aircraft, it had a design flaw, the 707 came years later and had design flaws that likked any more people, Boeing kept quiet and restricted the speed, they also paid bribes to sell their bad designs.

  14. dickheadbummer. Wrong as always, after a long successful career the Nimrod was retired just like other very successful British aircraft, Vulcan, Victor, Lightning and Tornado.

  15. dickheadbummer. BAE systems has made a number of very successful designs, without BAE there would have been no Tornado, no Typhoon and the F 35 would still be a non flying white elephant.
