  1. The DC 10 was also responsible for the worst single aircraft accident of all time, there is an excellent book called destination Disaster which covers the lead up to the DC 10 failures. It really shows just how bad the US aircraft industry was and of course the FAA being so useless. The faulty cargo door locking was known about in 1970, but covered up and even after the 1972 incident with luck and very good pilots saving the aircraft was still not fixed. The design of the hydraulic lines was another disaster waiting to happen.

  3. McDonnel Douglass cut corners and put the dangerous disaster into service. Boeing now are doing the same put profit first and never mind safety.
