@deounivers7663 - social democracy has nothing to do with same-sex marriage. Investing in infrastructure is probably the best use of the oil-money the government could ever use it on. Unlike today, where it is spent on everything else. Tax cuts are also something sorely needed, if Norway had Denmark's social welfare model, Norway wouldn't even need income or wealth tax. The fact ordinary Norwegians are about as rich as anyone else in Western Europe is a testament to the bad governance of Norway.

@Solstice261 - I mean their platform hasn't really changed over the last 40 years. So don't know if you can call it "populist", they are saying what they have always been saying. Its just that it echoes well with public sentiments at the moment. Stricter immigration, less tax and less government.

Just wrong part of the city. Oslo is a very divided city, the further west you go the more native Norwegians you'll see. Some places you wouldn't think there are any immigrants at all in Norway.

@felezeros4556 - 1. Only "rich" people (aka people with an actual income) pay taxes. Poor people don't. 2. Nope. Only FRP is adamant about less bureaucracy, everyone esle are neutral or want more government. 3. Norwegian domestic politics does not affect global climate. So it is absolutely totally uninteresting.

@felezeros4556 - 1. Wealth tax kicks in at 1.7 million NOK. Which is so low that anyone with a paid down apartment will pay it. So no, its not only the rich, its everyone not living on welfare, passed the age of 40/50. Of course, the main issue is that the tax is counter productive to wealth generation in Norway, and extremely bad for the Norwegian economy as a whole. In other words it costs a lot more than it brings in. 2. The bureaucracy does not want less bureaucracy, they want to expand the bureaucracy. The more regulations you have, the more bureaucracy always follows. 3. First of all, Norway is not one of the biggest producers in the world. And secondly, Norway's oil production is pretty clean. And thirdly, as long as there is demand, there will be producers. So no, Norway cannot affect anything at all.

@AlphaHorst - 400 billion+ NOK every year is used to pad the Norwegian government budget. Mainly used to pay for an enormous bureaucracy and generous welfare benefits.

"Strict immigration" ? 1/3 of Norway's population is of immigrant origin. Thankfully, most of them are Swedes and Poles, which explains why Norway isn't going down the shitter like Sweden.

If it was "illegal immigration", then those immigrants would have been arrested and deported. They are not, they are instead given preferential treatments through the system. So it is therefore more correct to call it "preferred immigration" instead of "illegal immigration".

Norwegians aren't "liberal" in that meaning of the word. Norwegians are pretty nationalistic and conservative, the Swedes are much more "liberal" in general compared to Norwegains. Multiculturalism is not seen as a anything great in Norway - except for foreign foods mainly.

Easy - because the left has no idea on how to grow the economy, only on how to spend government money on non-profitable ventures. But feel free to enlighten us about the "Lefts" ideas for increased economic output.
