  1. As a Norwegian, I think this video was very good. Joining the EU is not on the table, however our politicians have snuck us closer and closer to the EU over time. Making us more or less de-facto EU members. I wish we had real democracy like Switzerland, but alas, we are stuck with "representative democracy", as the opposition to EU is larger in the population than amongst the politicians.

  2.  @kut9682  - The EU / Anti-EU stance is widely spread out on the political spectrum in Norway. But the historic two main parties (left/right) are both pro-EU. But EU is not a hot topic in Norway, because the politicians know bringing it up is a sure-fire way to tank on the opinion-polls. So they get votes on other topics, turn around a tie us closer to EU between the elections.

  3. Well, as a Norwegian - there is not much to gain for us by joining the EU. We are already deeper into it more than what most people like, when EU comes up with rules and regulations that might work in central Europe, but not so much below the artic.

  6.  @runearntzen6499 - you can trade cherries for oil, all day every day. Without anything else. That's how one trade with every other country out there. No need for political or bureaucratic cooperation to do so.

  7.  @stespfr  - "International standards have been ranking Norway as the most democratic country worldwide" - true. Which is why they are useless rankings. Start engaging your own brain, instead of reading and parroting what others think.

The only 2 times Norwegians have actually had a say in the politics of Norway, they thwarted the politicians. Yeah, I can see why giving more such power to the people is not called for. Lets all praise representative "democracy".
