Watching this from Norway, it seems things aren't going the right direction for UK. Remembering back 20-30 years, and I think UK was held in higher regards back then, than it is today.

@NATIK001 - interestingly enough, Norway has the opposite problem. The Norwegian government has too much money. And every year it gets richer. No structural improvements are done, and every year things are just more and more inefficient and more and more money is used to keep everything chugging along. People's lives are not really improved, even though if we run a tighter ship, like Denmark, we could have skipped having income tax for example. I'd take no income tax and the Danish welfare system any day, compared to what we have.
