  1. I'm from Norway, and we are known for very human prisons, light sentencing and stuff compared to the US. But damn, DUI in Norway is no joke compared to the US. She would have gotten a massive fine (4000 USD or so I'd guess), lost her driving license for multiple years, probably needing to retake the entire driving test (that's easily 3000 USD), probably 30 days (at least) in actual jail. Her friend would probably just have gotten the standard fine of about 1000 dollars for needing to spend a night in the police station to sober up. Don't drink and drive in Norway :)
