Slow progress is probably because the defending side has too many advantages in this war as the parties currently stand. Neither side will be able to repeat their earlier quick captures/re-captures.

Some dude with a strange mustache is needed to solve this.

Yes, the fog of war is pretty much gone now. And when neither side have air superiority then its going to be a very slow grind. Winning by destroying everything in its path seems to be the Russian tactic, it takes a lot of time and a lot of ammo.
20
Well, Ukraine has more to loose in this war for sure.

They are in some fields next to the Russian front-lines in Ukraine.
5
@zeffy._440 - well, then you don't have air superiority. Air Superiority is when there are no drones or AA systems left to hurt you much.
2
The country that owns parts of every publicly listed company on the planet - Norway.
2
We don't know yet. No nuclear armed country has been seriously attacked by another country.
1
Yes, sending some spare stuff over. Enough to halt and repel Russia a few kilometers from their own border.
1
To be fair - Norway does have all the motives and abilities - its only defense is that it is 'too nice' :)
1
Hmm, I'm thinking it was somebody smoking on the Moskva again, after it was converted to a U-boat.
1
Well, if it was a NATO country who did it then article 5 is irrelevant.
1
@ThomasMelberStgt - well, i think only USA is powerful enough to get away with it, if uncovered by any European allies. So, I don't know if any other country would risk it, to be honest.
1
@MJGMJGMJG - well, its not inconceivable, but it is a risky move from Russia. It depends on the NATO countries not being willing to support Ukraine in the long run, and that their military production capabilities is not able to improve to match or even surpass Russia.
1
@j7j7j7j7x - well, are these the same analysts that predicted that Ukraine would fall in a few days back in 2022?
1
@j7j7j7j7x - its indeed a tragedy. Ukraine tried last year to push back, to no avail. Russia will try a push this year. If that doesn't work out much, I guess both parties might have to call it quits. But we will see.

To be fair, I checked Russian news - and they seemed a bit "all over the place" - unlike when they just get their lies from the Kremlin. So I'm not convinced Russia is behind it. They have very little to gain from it.
1
Greta Thunberg did it.

Good analysis. So I would go with #3 or #4.
1
The butler did it.

I'm leaning towards CIA type of operation. USA can probably force any non-Russian government to shut up about it, if they ever find out. And nobody takes what Russia says seriously anymore anyways.
1
I'm currently leaning towards some CIA type of "special gaspipe operation". USA then forces Russia to never trade with Europe again (at least for a long time), weakening Russia even more than Putin is already doing. And maybe they speculate that even if they are found out by the Europeans, they will just force those government to keep the secret anyways. And any discoveries by Russia can just be dismissed as Russian propaganda.
1
Going by "who gains the most" - Norway wins. It has both the NATO reason + the Gas Reason + Norway technically has the means to do this with its vast deep-water operational capabilities. I wonder if we will ever get the answer, it is however a big mystery. I also wonder if there is one bomb that didn't detonate? Wouldn't there be more logical to have 2 bombs on each pipeline?
1
I'm sure any help is appreciated, even if it comes from Uganda or Australia. Finland and Sweden are well integrated with NATO already, that's why they could join as fast as they could.
1
Well, the MIC in the West is quite happy with keeping the rate of Russian advance at this level. The shareholders are fine with this war dragging on for a very long time.
1
But what about Sauna and Vodka for your NATO friends?
