The reason for this is mainly that Norway has extensive deep water industrial knowledge due to operating large oil-rigs in deep water and hostile environments. So its a match made in heaven for Norwegian companies, if it turns out to be an economically and environmentally viable thing.

Nobody would invade the US militarily. However, you can instigate civil wars in the US much easier and then use divide and conquer. Alternatively is of course nuclear Armageddon, and that would also end up pretty much the same.

What will the price pr. produced kwh be, taking lifetime of a wind turbine into consideration, the building of the island and infrastructure? Also, what will Denmark do when the wind stops blowing a week on these two locations?

It will not be "large parts of the seafloor" - the sea-floor is the largest parts of the world. Its like complaining about making a sandbox in Sahara being a problem.

There is much less biodiversity in the deep sea than on the continental shelf. Its basically a desert, only a few organisms live there. And the deep sea is the largest area of the earth.

@Underjordiskentitet - well, when it does you need to have backup-power to be able to handle it. That's the main issue with wind energy, you still need another source of electricity to handle 100% of your load.

@Rainbow Capone - both coal, gas and hydro power can normally run constantly at their rated capacity. Sun will never be able to provide constant power 24 hours a day and neither will wind. So that's a big difference meaning sun and wind can only be a minor part of a modern societies energy mix.
