  3. Because it matters. If it was Ukrainian missiles, it means the rest of the Russian Navy is now pretty much sitting ducks if they go close to Ukraine. If it was an internal fault by the crew, it won't affect the other Russian vessels. I think it is pretty obvious which version of events are the most likely.
