  2. Surprising amount of human interaction during production. Would have thought making millions of a thing would make it worth fully-automating the production of said item.

  3.  @kusotarre  - Well, "NATO" doctrine is to use airforce instead of artillery, which explains why NATO doesn't have so much artillery to send to Ukraine. In any case, artillery shell production is ramping up in NATO now. But this war has indeed uncovered gaps in the Western military complex. Which is good to get resolved now.
