The authors must have smoked some serious shit, before suggesting this. Why not just do the same with the Mediterranean sea? And the cost estimate is probably 1/100 the real price. It would be cheaper to relocate a few million people to the mountains of Norway. Even 2-3 meter sea level rise is of no concern there.

@TomgTomg1 - Also, the reason why the Dutch are so tall, is because back in the day, before people could swim, only the tall ones would survive the flooding from time to time.

@iZetto1 - tall people lifted up their (still small - but soon to be even taller) children over the flood-water. Not so with the small parents. Hard times.
