Hehe, right... In that case, explain the huge convoy stuck for a week north of Kiev. Also part of this brilliant diversion plan? Same as the plan to not get air-superiority?

This aged like wine. Good predictions so far, although Russian proficiency was a bit over-estimated. It will be interesting to see how things progress in the future.
11
And how many of those 12420 Russians tanks are real, and not some rusted cold war scrap that was reported fixed, but the money for fixing them pocket and invested into yachts instead?

I don't think the Chinese government is this stupid. Chances of success is so low it isn't even funny. The cost to the Chinese country and economy would be enormous.

And in year 4000 a future warrior group of 40 people would wipe the floor of an entire modern division.

Interesting that Poland alone would probably have faired as well as Ukraine if not better. Since Poland is already NATO compliant supporting it would be much easier than Ukraine. And in reality Russia would only have managed to get a few meters inside Poland before it was game over for Russia. Because by the time Russia had amassed 200 000 on Belarusian border, NATO would have double that on the Polish border.
4
NATO numbers are probably the most sober ones. As NATO has no direct reason to inflate either numbers.
4
Good news for Poland is that Poland can now see what works on a real battlefield when buying new shiny stuff.

@sargon4451 - yes, like Sweden and Finland maybe joining NATO... Putin is the greatest recruiter for NATO ever.
3
Well... In 1944 US had the ability to amass large amounts of people and equipment in UK. They had the support of all the non-German civilian population of Europe wanting to be liberated. Germany was bombed out and was battling the USSR at the same time. And still it was a slow and painful process. This scenario has way more things stacked against the US than in 1944. No UK support. Hostile civilian population. Mainland Europe not bombed out and destroyed. No other major combat going on at the same time. So it would most likely fail.
3
Well, this scenario here is about as likely as Sweden vs Switzerland...
2
Pff, rest of Europe would just call them racists. And UK and Germany would fold right away.
2
@TheStanislavson - Landlocking Ukraine by taking Odessa and joining up Transnistria would be a big win for Russia. But I don't think Russia will be able to do that. Getting Mariupol seems more likely, even though the Ukrainian resistance there is really fierce.
2
@LvoZee05 - you don't need to duel if you shoot other aircraft out of the sky at 100 km range.
2
Norway would just buy 10 aircraft carries from US in the first week, and that would be it.
2
Norway would just spend some of its oil-fund to lease the US army for a month - and that would be it for Sweden.
1
Unlike Putin, that has needlessly sent thousands of Russian and Ukrainians to their graves. I'd take EU leadership any day of the week compared to that.
1
@CookieMonster-nt8hh - NA in NATO stands for "North Atlantic" - and does not apply to the Falkland islands.
1
@silliestsususagest3276 - I just wish Poland and Norway would send Ukraine some NSM missiles and have them test out if they work as advertised on the Russian Black Sea fleet. Nothing beats real-life testing.
1
@havanaisass4440 - that's a good start. But new weapons need testing in real-life conditions.
1
@pertpesc7058 - sure... And boy did the Ukrainians and the West take the bait. So now Russia has not had tens of thousands of troops to use in the east of Ukraine as they where in Kiev to die. The West has propped up Ukraine with weaponry for over a month, in order to stop the invasion of Kiev. And Russia has not gained anything more than they had by the first week or so in the east. Ukraine now has had a month to mobilize and get its ducks in line, training up new recruits to send to the east. It is the greatest tactic of all time... I guess Russia planed to fail to take control over the airfields in Kiev as well. All part of an elaborate ruse. I mean... Seriously. How muddy must your brain be from Russian propaganda to make such stupid assessments.
1
Norway would happily supply both sides with oil and fish.

Cockroaches and Switzerland wins.

@QualityPen - NATO was never in Iraq. US was with some other countries, searching for WMDs that didn't exist. (Of course Saddam had used chemical weapons on thousands of Kurds earlier, and he did make severe threats to the west. But still. Anyways he's dead now, and Iraq free to fuck up again). Of course US and NATO is interested in weaking Russia and supporting Ukraine without having to put boots on the ground. It is a win-win-win scenario for US/NATO.
1
@TheStanislavson - Well, I wouldn't worry too much. Its not like this attack came from blue skies. Russia and Ukraine has been in a proxy war for 8 years already. You will have ample time to see any attack build up. And while Russia might manage to claim some parts of eastern Ukraine, that's how far they will reach. Europe is a bridge too far.

Just read actual Russian news. (Not Russia Today). Russians live in a dream-world, spun by Kremlin. It makes sense if you don't question the narrative, just like a dream makes sense if you don't stop and think for 2 seconds. Putin just buys into the Russian lies.
1
I'm sure the Dutch and Belgian mountain forces will have a great time in Norway... And a few dam-buster missiles would probably make life a bit wet in Netherlands...
1
Just make sure you don't hit any of the about 2000 US troops stationed in Norway - as that would certainly complicate that plan.
1
We have seen Kuwait vs Iraq - but Kuwait having the help of allies eventually. Didn't go so well for Iraq.
1
If the machine spirits are willing, yes.
1
Norway could just buy all US super-carriers in cash and line them up to help with the defenses. Not to mention, buy off a few Russian divisions. I'm actually surprised this unlikely scenario went as well as it did for the Scandinavians, as NATO support is the backbone of Danish and Norwegian military doctrine.
1
Absolutely, US has a big advantage there. However, thinking how hard and much preparation D-Day required, launching an amphibious assault on a united (and not bombed out) Europe, would be pretty suicidal in the long run.
