  1. Well... In 1944 US had the ability to amass large amounts of people and equipment in UK. They had the support of all the non-German civilian population of Europe wanting to be liberated. Germany was bombed out and was battling the USSR at the same time. And still it was a slow and painful process. This scenario has way more things stacked against the US than in 1944. No UK support. Hostile civilian population. Mainland Europe not bombed out and destroyed. No other major combat going on at the same time. So it would most likely fail.

  6. I'm sure the Dutch and Belgian mountain forces will have a great time in Norway... And a few dam-buster missiles would probably make life a bit wet in Netherlands...

  7. We have seen Kuwait vs Iraq - but Kuwait having the help of allies eventually. Didn't go so well for Iraq.

  8. Absolutely, US has a big advantage there. However, thinking how hard and much preparation D-Day required, launching an amphibious assault on a united (and not bombed out) Europe, would be pretty suicidal in the long run.
