  1. You need to understand Swedish culture, to see why they did as they did (I'm Norwegian, so I know their culture, and where it is a bit "special"). The Swedes believed that their society was the ultimate in human development, and that when anyone else experience it, they will become Swedish as themselves. Combine this with 200 years of peace and an extreme consensus based culture, that will hunt down anyone speaking up - and you have the recipe for disaster.
