  1. Yes, but Norway is at its hearth a very capitalistic society. Its just that the state works as a big shareholder, and things are run capitalistically. Laws are followed and corruption is very low, planning is done long term. Norway's passive income is now so big, that the government isn't even able to spend the 3% it is allowed to spend each year. So the fund is growing exponentially now.

  3. Norway's approach is: Use renewables domestically, and then export everything else (oil and gas). Don't get high on your own supply.

  9. Fracking is extremely polluting and nasty, and Europe is very densely populated. Nobody want's that in their neighborhood, so it won't happen in Europe.
