  1. As a Norwegian, you forget to take into account that by building very ugly stuff, nothing of value gets lost if there is a big war and Oslo gets bombed. I think that's one of the benefits of ugly architecture often overlooked.

  2. @Player1776. - Its a silver-lining, a coping mechanism, because there are so many ugly buildings in Oslo. (Fortunately there are some nice ones as well, so its a very mixed bag). Cheap conversion kits would be of interest.

  3. I live in Norway, and the amount of ugly buildings built are enormous. Fortunately for Oslo, there was a building boom back in the late 1800s, which gave rise to some parts of the city looking very nice. I think it should be a requirement that a classical architectural design look is provided in addition to the standard ones when new larger buildings are provided. It should be part of the entire selection process. Today politicians usually get to choose from a lot of ugly designs, there needs to be other options presented.
