Isn't that the main skill of a politician. Regardless of the question, repeat the answer. But at least we know the official NATO stance.
6
Yes, but by that logic everyone in Europe should have spoken German for a few generations already.
4
It is in international waters, and owned by Russian companies mostly.
3
Maybe in the far future, but not now.
2
They didn't. It just turned out that everyone east of Germany wanted to join. Because they feared that Russia was just waiting to take the USSR back. And boy did they know a thing or to about Russia.
2
I had a referendum in my living room today. 100% in favor for annexing Russia into my living room. I now have the world's largest living room by democratic vote.
2
Well, according to Russian logic Putin would most likely be nuking Russian land. And killing pro-Russian Ukrainians.
1
Ukraine will not become a NATO member now. But very likely in the future, after the war. Putin can stop the war tomorrow if he likes. But apparently Putin wants to send 50 000 more Russians to their deaths and a few hundred thousand wounded will make the hospitals busy for a while.
1
Suffering? What exactly should they be doing to not suffer?
1
Nah, it was Norway. But if you have some real evidence, I suggest you take it to the media.
1
@SweetJennyFan - feel free to post it here instead.
1
It ended WW2 and spared hundreds of thousands of both Japanese and American lives. It stopped the fascist Japanese government and led Japan into a world of prosperity and humanity. It was a great success.
1
Yes, in the meantime Ukraine gets a bit of help to grind down NATOs main adversary for pocket change.
1
Struggling to take over Ukraine? They are struggling to hold land a few hundred kilometers away from their own border. But I agree, nukes are not going to be used before Ukraine has grinded down the 300 000 reserves. And that will take a while.
1
USA is going to earn so much on this. Who do you think buys American weapons now? Europe is rearming itself. That's a lot of jobs for Americans in the arms industry.
1
Pretty sure NATO is taken dead seriously by everyone involved now. Who is not taking NATO seriously?
1
Maybe a harsh letter in the UN. Or maybe some10 x 2 MT H-Bombs in Moscow. Or somewhere in between. Lets hope Putin doesn't want to find out.
1
Well, Germany should ask Norway about that...
1
@TOO-BO - for some reason nobody believes Norway did it, although they have the most to gain :)
1
It is up to Putin if he wants to nuke "Russia" (aka Ukrainian oblasts). I mean, he is doing his best at destroying Russia, so why not.
1
Yes, there are multiple countries out there with this kind of capabilities - USA is one of them of course.
1
Or the fact that hurricanes are common in parts of the world and happen many times every year.
1
Ukraine won't be joining NATO now anyways.
1
Well, Putin and Russia is the best recruiter for NATO ever. If Russia didn't continue to invade and threaten its surrounding neighbors, NATO would have disbanded a long time ago. But Russia had to keep on being a bully instead of a friend, and that's why every Eastern European country has joined NATO as soon as possible.
1
It only covers the Northern Hemisphere (North Atlantic). Even the Argentian attack on UK's Falkland Islands didn't involve NATO.
1
Why cannot Russia surrender? They started it.
1
Here is why they don't say anything specific: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Policy_of_deliberate_ambiguity
1
@rahulvermamjtfbfxlzc28 - why not? Its obvious they want to keep all options on the table. And if I was to guess there are different opinions internally on what to do in that scenario.
1
Only one way to find out...
1
Naah, first Ukraine must grind down the 300 000 Russians not smart or rich enough to GTFO while they still can. That will take a few months. Then Putin might try another round of slaughtering of Russian conscripts. Then we will shall see. Nukes won't fly this year, and hopefully never.
