  1. As with everything, it is somewhere in between. The exact mix will depend on country and situation. But the fact that Argentina has poverty, while being blessed with so many resources indicates their style of government has failed over the decades.

  2. The state doesn't need to sell down all its assets. It can keep a minority share-holding as a passive owner. The trick is that the companies it owns must be run based on capitalism, and not nepotism or socialism.

  3.  @troystpaul100  - depend on your natural resource. Oil and gas are still in high demand. A lot of minerals too. Just ask Australia or UAE.

  4. Germany did do hyperinflation, so we know how they handle it. They elected a dictator, which fixed their economy by militarizing, then they started the biggest war in human history.
