  2. NATO coordinates defense between nations. Meaning not all countries have all capabilities. Air force is something that can easily be moved around, and it is expensive. So Estonia would typically provide land-based resources, while other countries would help out with the air force.

Oh well, Putin has managed to galvanize NATO, increase defense spending in Europe a lot, smash his army into Ukrainian mud, got Finland and Sweden to want to join NATO, get Russia to be the most sanctioned country in the world, while killing and wounding 100 000+ Russians and Ukrainians. Putins strategy is best strategy.

  5. Nope, the West has grossly over-estimated Russia. But not as much as Russia has over-estimated Russia. Russia is now barely able to take some fields of mud a few kilometers from their own border, fighting one of Europes poorest countries, using WW1 tactics. Yeah, the only impressive part of Russian military, is its ability to have young men killed for nothing.
