As a Norwegian, thank you. Also thanks to the electricity prices Germany causes, we will get our most "far-right" government ever in Norway in September 2025.

Shutting down your own nuclear plants was maybe not the best idea. To be fair, Sweden has made a bunch of bad policy decisions over the last 20 years, and are now paying for those.

@Tranarpnorra - yeah, couldn't agree more. At least people seem to get it now, so change will happen.

Stem FRP :) (Actually the problem is that the money earned isn't piped back to the Norwegian consumer, but just added to the government coffers. Expensive electricity in Europe should have meant cheaper prices in Norway).

Norwegian government is making a shit-ton of money on this electricity trading, as nearly all power plants are government run in Norway. Normal Norwegians are fed up with the government taking that money from normal people (historically cheap electricity has been one of the few good things about living in Norway). This topic is changing the entire political landscape of Norway and Norway will be turning more to the "far-right" than it has ever been in the next election in September 2025.

@valfader - well, that is of course unacceptable. Selling surplus and using the money made to reduce costs in Norway should be the way to go about it.

Solar and Wind are shit renewable energy sources. Hydro and Geothermal are quality renewable energy sources - but are unfortunately not available for every country.

The issue in Norway is about who should make money from the sale of electricity. As long as our domestic needs are satisfied, there is no problem selling power to UK, Sweden or Denmark for exuberant prices. The only thing is that the additional income should be piped back to the Norwegian consumers. Meaning the more expensive electricity is in Europe, the cheaper it should be in Norway.
