Big Bang = Theory based on wild assumptions, that no longer matches observations - hence needing 'Inflation', 'Dark Energy' and 'Dark Matter' to make it fit - more fun theories to come as more things are discovered that doesn't fit. Long story short, Big Bang never happened, and this entire video is not describing what has or will happen at all. Purpose = None of course. Matter is just random quantum fluctuations becoming real. Produced all the time all over in the infinite 'empty' void known as the 'universe'. Intelligence is just a survival mechanic gone 'wrong'.

  3. I think we will. But first the Big Bang theory will have to die - it should have been killed 3 times already ('Inflation','Dark Energy' and 'Dark Matter' - all pointing towards a bad theory). Then we need to figure out how matter comes into existence, since we no longer can use a 'magic' creation event. Once we figure that out, it is pretty simple to figure out the rest. My personal guess would be quantum fluctuations in empty space some times create real matter from nothing (like rogue waves in the sea). Universe (as an empty void) is of course endless both in time and space.

  4. Like we try to keep humans that live as hunter-gatherers alone in the Amazonas. Aliens with high technology levels, probably have no reason to fight. There is an endless supply of real-estate and resources in the galaxy. Advanced robotics would make any need for working obsolete. It is therefore much more interesting to study how (for them) aliens like us evolve and behave, without their intervention. Some times their space-ships get spotted by humans, but they've gotten away with it for now. This could (and I really hope) be one of the cooler solutions to the Fermi Paradox.
