As long as they make sure future elections are fair - all is good. The problem is when the democracy is undermined and no longer existing. Because history is full of people rising to power, doing great things for their people, then turning full on horrible dictator after a while. So as long as he stays because he is truly popular by the people, things are ok in my book.
