  1. monsters don’t live under beds. they live right down the hall, and let in by the child’s own “parent(s).” i no longer have the capacity to feel bad for the “parents”. i’m not desensitized because i’ve heard it over and over—i’m desensitized because these “parents” keep allowing it to happen.

  2. no kid should have to experience this. doesn't help that kids are more relentless these days about it, too. it's always been around, but this is another level. bullying and murder are very different things. pulling hair and cracking skulls are very different kinds of fights. bunch of sociopathic kids these days.

  3. agreed. the world is too wild right now. we don't need more kids, sorry. we got enough! we need to hit pause for a while for those unable to handle parenting in today's society.

  5. idk all the gentle parents i know, their kids don't get caught-up in these situations. if anything, it's a lack of parenting that allows this.

  6. not like this. kids are literally fighting to the death. show me reports of that happening 40 years ago on the same level. no one is saying it just started--they're saying it's getting worse and the fights are turning deadly. children should not be killing eachother.

  8. fully agree! it's not enough to sit back as parents and say "kids will be kids" anymore. parents need to step it up and learn to parent in 2024 and beyond.
