@Marvin-dg8vj No, I think @Johan Olofsson has a point....see below: The EU has had proof that UK/GB will NOT uphold/implement The Agreement. The fishing licences is just one part that has ended and sure enough there are some FR Fishermen that lost out - they will be compensated and they will find other jobs. It's obvious FR (and EU) no longer wish to continue in this tit-for-tat, piecemeal, slow motion Divorce. FR fires the first shot and it's the Fishing licences, UK behaves in the way we all know UK will - won't care, bluster its way to the Public of being bullied re our own waters...etc, etc. This will allow EU faster movement towards "removing" UK steadily but surely by removing/preventing/stopping/holding up just about all things where UK has interactions with EU. Removing energy and food will turn the screw, bit-by-bit, never all at once. Macron may lose the battle, lose a little face with the FR Electorate but in his mind he will win the War. This give FR (EU?) the upper hand but in that gentlemanly way of upholding Law and Order. Never quite the bully, always reasonable but inexorably ensuring Divorce. Too many problems are coming at the UK all at once in a very short space of time. Perhaps if we had more time we could have handled each sling and arrow better. I'm not a Brexiteer but I hate all this shit.

@roywiseman Well Roy, RIGHT NOW our Country is divided along these lines. I care as much as you care. WE shouldn't be having these "arguments" and the "Commentators" just further polarise us. All of these points of contention were known BEFORE exiting the EU. Our Country is now facing the fall out of bad decisions. We the British accepted those terms - we signed the effing thing! Why then are we getting our butts kicked - oven ready deal remember? Now we can justify it by saying the EU is the Bully. Rob, sooner or later we are going to have to accept that it is OUR side of the story that keeps changing. Like all Cons we can't keep our story straight. We don't like what we got. @frankieseward8667 Yes but this Tory Government is absolutely on the side of Businesses to sort out the problems for themselves but Businesses need the right Environment to succeed in and are looking to the Government to set it up. I don't believe Government will intervene and instead let SME go out of Business and Big Businesses will buy them out.

The right wing are "in charge" in the Tory Party and England as a whole. They are racist and misogynists - no way will there be a minority leader - no coloureds, no women, no gays, no Jewish people (or old people for that matter). The left keeps going on about Sunak and Truss because it wouldn't matter to the left (inclusive) but it does matter to the right (exclusive). For a Right Wing Corporatist Government this makes senses (no point in using Socialist arguments to point out the fallout). Tories won't intervene. They expect Corporate Businesses to sort it (even if the SME's go to the wall! SMEs will be bought out by the Corporations if viable or fold). The training and the amount paid to British Workers will be set by the market. It's seen as getting people off Benefits and back to work, with Corporations benefitting and therefore taking on the hiring and training. I don't think they will even touch the minimum wage issue.

I deleted all my subscriptions and immediately got inundated with right wing nazi videos. Then at Oct7, I eas hesitant re Izrael (joosvszion) and I got inundated ahain with proIz stuff UNTIL I replied being proPal. Certainly there is bias being served up.

I do however, know that both the UK and FR Fishermen are unhappy to the point of taking action. They appeal to their respective Governments to resolve an unsatisfactory situation. The FACT is that the "Agreement" is no agreement. The licences is just one more thing! It could be any number of things, as we have seen, to set off a dispute. Re: the "threats". It's men flexing! I hate to say it but there it is. Blocking Ports, sending Gun Boats, individuals firing arms across the Channel and nothing gets fixed. I am sick of it! We need a PEACE negotiating team OUTSIDE of the EU and the UK. Then again, who would even care to bother to intervene.

Sad fact is that they stop the SME Businesses and aid the larger Businesses, which in turn grow much larger and more powerful. With money and power they end up controlling the Politics and Politicians. Politician's make a rod for their own backs.

Phil, the PM is working on "Building Back Better" where the public won't own anything and like it! All the rest is just on it's way to consolidate everything into a few hands. It's happening in other Countries too - USA, India, UK - where family farms and small holdings are being "phased out" by legislation and other tactics to make it difficult or impossible to farm. Conspiracy theory?
