  1. Modern governmental structures came about so that governments could field millions and sustain huge numbers of casualties. They view this as necessary and thats part of why attempts to lessen their grip are viewed as dangerous.

  2. They wondered the same thing as they sat in trenches in western Europe, slaughtering each other by the millions. Not only would people show up, but the various states would absolutely use it as the reason to finally rid themselves of free expression.
