Its not really evolutionary programming. If the step-parent was raised in an unloving home, that step-parent is likely to be just as selfish as the people that raised them because thats how that person was taught. And a selfish person is going to be a selfish BIOLOGICAL parent also, but likely an even more selfish step-parent, because they feel an even smaller sense of responsibility. Healthy people will always make good parents and step-parents. And the ones that humbly do the work on themselves can overcome the trauma and learn how to show up in a healthy way. This is all basic psychology. They unnecessarily name this "evolutionary psychology" and unnecessarily complicate the already understood facts about why and how these things happen.

Exactly. Its all literally made up by people who don't know any better and like to make excuses for their bad behavior. The true psychology of people has never changed. It's always been the same. Thats why they can never provide any proof of their assumptions. They make money and gain attention just from a bunch of empty talking, though.
