This is because when you show good behavior, it is basically a mirrored reflection of how the other person is showing up. It inadvertently makes them look at their own behavior, and most people try to avoid that, because it makes them feel shame. So in order to avoid feeling shame, they try to bring you down to their level to be like them, or they just try to get distance themselves from you or try to chase you away. Keep being your good self with integrity and don't settle for any place that doesn't appreciate that about you. Most of this world doesn't have integrity, but there are some places that still have decent people that do appreciate kindness and integrity. Don't stop until you find a place like that. In your work life and your personal life.

Tons of people really enjoy showing others kindness. "For whatever reason, your efforts are creating an awkward interpersonal dynamic..." This quote from you tells us that you don't understand the reason why kindness doesn't always have a favorable response. So you are coming up with a solution without understanding the reason for the problem. This is why you are wrong in understanding how to address it. There are actually a few different reasons for why kindness doesn't get a favorable response.
