  29. It's obvious that when your immigrants look the same as the natives, speak basically the same language, and are (at least nominally) the same religion: integration is easy. What takes a lot more explanation - is why the leaders of other European countries seem intent on importing the least compatible immigrants imaginable.

You can put an Irish, English, German and Italian nationalist in the same discussion: and they agree on far more than they disagree on. They loath the left in their own country far more than they loath the country next door. This isn't 1850 anymore, and European nationalists really are not thinking much about annexing some province on the border.
