TBH most of our "refugees" are from countries that have no war, and are people who come through multiple safe countries. It's opportunistic, not desperate.

Can you name an occasion in the last 20 years where western intervention in an unstable region has made things better? Any at all?

@Awesomewithaz Same people who drew Europe's borders - and Europe doesn't have this problem. Would it have been better to say - "You lot just fight it out amongst yourselves"?

@montybrown5410 No actually that was the justification for going in - the justification for staying for the next 20 years was to turn Afghanistan into a stable liberal democracy. Tell me that was a success.
