  1. What made me want to sob with rage and frustration was that within hours of the 8000 arriving in Lampedusa - the Italians had ships on site ready to take them. . . . . to Italy. Not "back to Africa", but on to mainland Italy. The illegals could not have made it any easier to quickly and efficiently remove them - and the "far-right" Italian government, didn't even TRY.

  2. The ruling elites have decided it will continue. It would have been the easiest thing in the world for the Italian ships at Lampedusa to have taken these 7000 men back to Africa the day they arrived - but instead, they were all taken on to reception centres in Italy, and from there to the rest of Europe. They want this to continue.
